This research, using the methodology and theoretical framework of the post colonialist approach, especially Homi K. Bhabha’s views, considers the often negative factors, motives and aspects, such as turning the events as well as subject-oriented and centrist views of the western author. The many examples and quotations referenced in this article include those frequent concepts and techniques of Orientalism discourse such as generalism, otherness, stereotyping, negation, and disregard for cultural differences as well as the moral superiority of the Western subject are reflected in this travelogue. پژوهش حاضر به نقد چگونگی بازنمایی و تصویرسازی کردها در سفرنامه­ ی کلودیوس جیمز ریچ با عنوان <em>روایت اقامت در کردستان و نینوای باستانی</em> می‌پردازد، که در نیمه­ ی نخست سده ­ی نوزدهم نگارش یافته است و شیوه ­ی نگرش مؤلف را در مواجهه با اجتماعات کردی بررسی می‌کند. پژوهش پیش ­رو، با استفاده از روش‌شناسی و چارچوب نظری رویکرد پسااستعمارگرایانه، به ویژه آرای هومی بابا، بر آن است عوامل، انگیزه­ ها و جنبه­ های غالباً منفی، از قبیل وارونه جلوه دادن وقایع و نیز نگاه سوژه­ محور و مرکزگرایانه ­ی غربی مؤلف را به نمایش بگذارد. مثال­ ها و نقل­ قول­ های فراوانی که در این مقاله به آنها ارجاع داده شده است، دربرگیرنده ­ی آن دسته از مفاهیم و شگردهای پربسامد گفتمان شرق‌شناسی نظیر تعمیم‌گرایی، دیگربودگی، کلیشه ­سازی، منفی­ سازی، لحاظ نکردن تفاوت‌های فرهنگی و هم­چنین فرادستی اخلاقی سوژه‌ی غربی هستند که در این سفرنامه انعکاس یافته­ اند. https://www.chistorys.ir/article_203498_ee57e7e13a1e4820f716d2bca44f4ed9.pdf
