With the emergence of the culture of the famous person or the star in the middle of the twentieth century, a fascinating and new force was formed that played a role in society and politics. This study focuses on the question of how the culture of a famous person was formed and developed in Iran. To answer this question, while analyzing how the elements of this culture (audience, stars, and agents), were formed, its social and political status and its relations with various groups of society and the government are also examined. According to the research findings, the star formed only when the agents grew. The growth of agents related to the expansion of the country's industrialization and the expansion of mass media in the mid-1970s, and thus the third party, the audience. The famous person or star as the most important product of the new culture, due to the large audience, became a new and influential authority. At the time, due to the lack of modern communication technology such as the Internet, the star's relationship with the audience depended on the state, semi-state or independent media. This was an opportunity for the government, with the support of some stars, to promote the imperial ideology, revive and perpetuate its legitimacy, and also promote the state achievements such as the White Revolution. Moreover, the stars were used by the opposition and militant groups to attract some independent stars.
