Traditional art of glass blowing entered to the stage of industrial production during Qajar period. The expansion of commercial relationship with the West and the effect of industrial revolution had direct influence on these transitions. With the acceleration of modernism and the increase of the demand rate for various decorative goods, products of traditional foundries could not cater to the demand of the community and gradually paved the way for the entry of glass into the industrial stage. Little has been written about the process of this change. Therefore, this research will analyze the documents, concessions and other substantial evidence in order to study the efforts that had been made for producing glass and the factors of its frustration. The results indicate that though Iranian and foreign glass works which were dependent on government and the private foundries aimed to cater to the market demand, factors such as the lack of proper information about premium feedstock and appropriate coal in the country frustrated these efforts. Meanwhile, the transition in glass blowing process had some perquisites such as acquaintance with new technics and improvement of the form of glass wares.
